The Property Brothers Home Design's Television Feature was one of the most popular game modes on the apps. It answered the question "What if the Scott Brothers had taken a different path in life?" Focusing on younger versions of Drew and Jonathan before they got their big break, episodes like this focused on the brothers making connections with our cast of characters as they grow as people.
Ellen's garden restoration DIY feature:
Ellen's Garden Restoration focused on bringing light-hearted fun with a fresh feeling to players. Finding the right ways to add Ellen's humor to the game was essential for making the experience unique. Being generally shorter in length, DIY levels leaned toward snappy dialogue rather than involved plotlines (though the occasional bit of hijinks between characters was always encouraged.)
Working with the stars
One of my primary jobs at Storm8 was to bring our celebrity personalities to life within our games. This meant learning their voices, balancing their brand with the studio's style, and helping to create a gameplay experience that keeps the players hooked across every level. From comedic one-offs to episodic dramas, coming up with exciting storylines brought an interesting challenge with each new idea we developed.
All PDF examples are scripts used in-game, and were originally entered into spreadsheets. Dialogue has been displayed in a screenplay-format for viewing purposes.
